Match Attax Australia & NZ
2012 Championships
The Most Anticipated Match Attax Event of the Year in Aus/NZ!
In the past years we held state events all over Australia with a final match in Melbourne. Last year our Australian championship winner Lucas Lewit-Mendes was flown to the UK to compete in the Match Attax World Championships!
This year we are partnering up with Vikings Futsal, with all state finals being played at their venues – new season, new championships!
To compete you must have the new 2011/2012 season cards…so start collecting!
The Match Attax State Tournaments are open to all challengers who have collected what they feel is a Match winning combination of cards.
At all state finals you can play Match Attax with other participants (no age limit) and trade cards. So what are you waiting for? Check out the venues and dates below and start planning out your MA Championships experience.

What to Bring
* Card deck to play in the tournament

* Any cards in your collection that you want to swap

How the Tournaments will Run
FIRST ROUND
Players will be randomly divided into groups and will have a chance to play against each of the other opponents in that group. Once everybody in the group finishes their game, everybody will rotate to play with the next player in their group. 3 points will be awarded for a win and 1 point for a draw. The player with the highest score from their group will then qualify for the next round.
In the event of a draw the result between the drawn parties will decide the winner. If their is still a deadlock then the goal difference will be taken into consideration. If it remains a draw then an all in game between drawn parties will decide a winner.
SEMI FINAL
Semi finals will then be played directly after the first round. The semi finals will be drawn as follows:
* Winner of Group 1 will play Winner of Group 2
* Winner of Group 3 will play the best runner up
THE FINAL
The remaining two players will then play, with the winner of that event section flown to Melbourne to compete in the Australian Championships final!
AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS FINAL
(17th March 2012 – Chadstone Shopping Centre, VIC)
Event Section winners (one winner from each regional event) will be flown to Melbourne to compete in the Australian Match Attax Championships!
Our lucky Australian Match Attax Champion will then be flown to the UK to participate in the Match Attax World Championships to be held during Chelsea v QPR, Stamford Bridge, April 29, 2012!
Not playing in the tournament? No worries! Feel free to come watch and/or to just trade cards.
